Elena Roversi

Elena Roversi earned her bachelor’s degree in International Cooperation and Development at the University of Bologna (Italy) and spent six months at the Free University of Brussels (Belgium) as part of the Erasmus Program. She then received her MA from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) in 2016 where she studied Gender Studies. Before starting her Ph.D. at Auburn University in January 2021, she worked for five years on child protection and gender programs for different United Nations Agencies in Switzerland and for UNICEF in Senegal.

Her research interests are in urban studies and political activism in West Africa which she analyses with an intersectional feminist and anti-colonial approach.
