
Dr. Thomas Aneni
Dr. Thomas Aneni is Co-founder of, the Sustainable Environment Development Initiative (SEDI). He is an environmental policy and advocacy expert with over 15 years of experience in environmental research and campaign at the local, national, regional, and global levels.
He is Chair, of the Model Provinces Amalgam Phase-out campaign with a focus on Africa, with the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, for successful model campaigns in Nigeria; Kenya; Tunisia; and Zambia. The model province’s overall objective is to contribute to reduced risk from dental amalgam use to human health and the environment.
Thomas was the lead consultant for the International Pollutants Elimination Network campaign and advocacy project on ‘Pesticides and Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs) in Nigeria (2021). He coordinates the civil society network on water and sanitation in Edo State, Nigeria.
He is an African Climate change Fellowship Program Adaptation fellow (2016). Thomas holds a Ph.D. Environmental Biology (2014) from the University of Benin, Nigeria
