He is an environmental policy and advocacy expert with over 15 years experience in environmental research and campaign at the local, national, regional and global levels. He is Chair, Model Provinces Amalgam Phase out campaign with focus on Africa, with the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, for successful model campaigns in Nigeria; Kenya; Tunisia; and Zambia. The model province overall objective is to contribute to reduced risk from dental amalgam use to human health and environment. Thomas was lead consultant for the International Pollutants Elimination Network campaign and advocacy project on ‘Pesticides and Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs) in Nigeria (2021). He coordinates the civil society network on water and sanitation in Edo State, Nigeria. He is an African Climate change Fellowship Program Adaptation fellow (2016). Thomas holds a PhD Environmental Biology (2014) from the University of Benin, Nigeria
